Comptant parmi les personnages les plus mémorables du Silmarillion, Luthien est une Elfe, fille du roi Thingol de Doriath et de la maia Melian. D’une beauté extraordinaire, Luthien Tinúviel rencontre l’humain Beren dans les bois de Doriath, et ils tombent amoureux. Mais Thingol ne voit pas d’un bon oeil cet amour, et promet d’accorder à Beren la main de sa fille à condition qu’il dérobe l’un des précieux Silmarils de la couronne de Morgoth. Beren accepte, et se fait prisonnier à Tol-in-Gaurhoth, l’île des loups garous. Luthien contrevient au schéma archétypal de la Dame de héros, en allant sauver Beren, et y affronte Sauron. Ensuite, elle parvient grâce à ses pouvoirs et son chant à endormir le loup Carcharoth, puis Morgoth et ses serviteurs, permettant ainsi à Beren de voler un des Silmarils. Lorsque, après avoir remis à Thingol le trésor tant convoité, Beren meurt de ses blessures, Luthien se rend chez le vala Mandos, et parvient à le convaincre par son chant pour qu’il ressuscite Beren. Elle renonce en échange à son immortalité d’Elfe. Quand on sait que Lúthien Tinúviel est inspirée d’Edith Tolkien, la femme de l’écrivain, on comprend dès lors tout l’amour qu’il avait pour ce personnage
Collier inox articulé symétrique, composé d’une vingtaine de fils inox de diamètres différents, soudés argent et martelés main. En pièce centrale, un cabochon de très belle qualité forme goutte serti griffe Labradorite, teinte verte et bleue et striée de noir. Une chaînette de rallonge terminée par un entrelacs permet de jouer avec la longueur du collier. Dimension du collier: 40 cm de long, chaînette de rallonge de 5 cm pour jouer sur la longueur. Dimension du cabochon: 3,8 cm par 2,8 cm . Largeur du collier : 6,5 cm entre le tour de cou et la pointe du collier.

One of the most memorable characters from The Silmarillion, Luthien is an Elf, daughter of King Thingol of Doriath and Maia Melian. Extraordinarily beautiful, Luthien Tinúviel meets the human Beren in the woods of Doriath, and they fall in love. But Thingol does not look kindly on this love, and promises to grant Beren his daughter’s hand on condition that he steals one of the precious Silmarils from Morgoth’s crown. Beren accepts, and is taken prisoner on Tol-in-Gaurhoth, the island of the werewolves. Luthien contravenes the archetypal pattern of the Lady of Heroes, by going to save Beren, and confronts Sauron there. Then, thanks to her powers and her song, she manages to put the wolf Carcharoth to sleep, then Morgoth and his servants, thus allowing Beren to steal one of the Silmarils. When, after having given Thingol the coveted treasure, Beren dies from his wounds, Luthien goes to the vala Mandos, and manages to convince him with his song so that he can resurrect Beren. In exchange, she renounces her immortality as an Elf. When we know that Lúthien Tinúviel is inspired by Edith Tolkien, the writer’s wife, we understand all the love he had for this character
