Empruntons ces passages et nous entrons dans des contr\u00e9es intimes et fantaisistes.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Tous les jours, le soleil se l\u00e8ve et parcourt le ciel : les \u00c9gyptiens croyaient que R\u00e2 effectuait ce voyage \u00e0 bord d’une barque magique, volant dans les cieux. R\u00e2 parcourait ainsi chaque jour le ciel pour \u00e9clairer et r\u00e9chauffer le monde. Mais parvenu au bout de son voyage, Nout, la d\u00e9esse du ciel, l’avalait, et ne le recrachait que le lendemain. Ainsi arrivait la nuit. Durant tout le temps que dure la nuit, R\u00e2 sur sa barque parcourt des \u00e9tendues sombres, o\u00f9 le guette son ennemi, le gigantesque serpent Apophis. Chaque nuit, ce monstrueux serpent affronte R\u00e2, et tente de faire chavirer la barque o\u00f9 voyage le dieu. S’il y parvient, le jour ne se l\u00e8vera pas le matin suivant, et ce seront les t\u00e9n\u00e8bres \u00e9ternelles. Heureusement, Seth, dieu du d\u00e9sert, de la foudre et de l’orage, voyage avec R\u00e2. Dans la nuit, il foudroie le serpent Apophis. Une fois celui-ci vaincu, la barque peut reprendre son trajet et le soleil se lever le matin. Les \u00c9gyptiens croyaient, quand il y avait une \u00e9clipse de soleil, que c’\u00e9tait la faute du serpent Apophis, qui attaquait R\u00e2, et tentait de d\u00e9vorer le disque du soleil.<\/p>\n

Every day, the sun rises and travels across the sky: the Egyptians believed that Ra made this journey aboard a magical barque, flying through the heavens. Ra thus traversed the sky each day to illuminate and warm the world. But upon reaching the end of his journey, Nut, the goddess of the sky, swallowed him, and only spat him out the next day. Thus night fell. Throughout the night, Ra, in his barque, travels across dark expanses, where his enemy, the gigantic serpent Apophis, lies in wait. Each night, this monstrous serpent confronts Ra and tries to capsize the barque carrying the god. If it succeeds, day will not break the following morning, and there will be eternal darkness. Fortunately, Seth, god of the desert, lightning, and storms, travels with Ra. During the night, he strikes the serpent Apophis with lightning. Once defeated, the barque can resume its journey, and the sun will rise in the morning. The Egyptians believed that when there was a solar eclipse, it was the fault of the serpent Apophis, who attacked Ra and tried to devour the sun’s disk.<\/p>\n
