Minas Morgul (la \u00ab Tour de la Sorcellerie \u00bb en sindarin), anciennement Minas Ithil (la \u00ab Tour de la Lune \u00bb), est une cit\u00e9 imaginaire de la Terre du Milieu issue du l\u00e9gendaire de l’\u00e9crivain britannique J. R. R. Tolkien, apparaissant dans le roman Le Seigneur des anneaux. Soumise aux Esprits Servants de l’Anneau, Minas Ithil fut d\u00e9natur\u00e9e en une horrible version corrompue de son ancienne beaut\u00e9. Sa porte \u00e9tait d\u00e9crite comme une bouche \u00e9norme. Le plus haut sommet de la tour tournait lentement, montrant \u00e0 chaque tour une t\u00eate au regard mauvais. Le marbre des murs de Morgul ne brillait plus avec le reflet de la lune, mais de la cit\u00e9 \u00e9manait une p\u00e2le et effrayante luminescence, que Tolkien d\u00e9crivait comme une \u00ab lumi\u00e8re cadav\u00e9rique qui n’illuminait rien \u00bb. L\u00e0 o\u00f9 Minas Ithil \u00e9tait une cit\u00e9 agit\u00e9e et bruyante comme Minas Anor, Minas Morgul \u00e9tait aussi silencieuse qu’une tombe.<\/p>\n

Minas Morgul (Sindarin for “Tower of Sorcery”), formerly Minas Ithil (the “Tower of the Moon”), is a fictional city in Middle-earth from the legendarium of British writer J. R. R. Tolkien, appearing in the novel The Lord of the Rings. Subjugated by the Ring-Wielding Spirits, Minas Ithil was denatured into a horrible, corrupted version of its former beauty. Its gate was described as an enormous mouth. The tower’s highest point turned slowly, revealing an evil-looking head at each turn. The marble walls of Morgul no longer shone with the reflection of the moon, but from the city emanated a pale and frightening luminescence, which Tolkien described as a “corpselike light that illuminated nothing”. Where Minas Ithil was a bustling and noisy city like Minas Anor, Minas Morgul was as silent as a tomb.
