L\u2019Art alchimique s\u2019op\u00e8re \u00e0 partir de trois \u00e9l\u00e9ments : deux principes oppos\u00e9s, le mercure et le souffre, qui gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 un agent tiers, le sel, parviennent \u00e0 fusionner. Les alchimistes consid\u00e8rent le mercure comme la m\u00e8re de tous les m\u00e9taux et l\u2019associent \u00e0 l\u2019eau primitive qui leur donne naissance et peut les diluer. Son symbole le plus connu demeure la fontaine mercurielle. Cette source d\u2019eau pure et claire poss\u00e8de le pouvoir de purifier les corps et de les r\u00e9g\u00e9n\u00e9rer. Dans le processus du Grand \u0153uvre, elle signe l\u2019\u0153uvre au blanc. Le sage s\u2019y plonge afin que seul ce qui est pur et subtil en ressorte. R\u00e9g\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9, se sentant tel un nouveau-n\u00e9, il peut alors se pr\u00e9parer \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9preuve finale.<\/p>\n
