Son histoire avec Eros, le dieu de l\u2019amour, est une ode \u00e0 la transformation \u00e9motionnelle et spirituelle. L\u2019histoire d\u2019\u00c9ros et Psych\u00e9 peut se lire comme une all\u00e9gorie de l\u2019\u00e2me partag\u00e9e entre l\u2019amour charnel et l\u2019amour divin ; purifi\u00e9e par les \u00e9preuves et les souffrances, elle parvient au bonheur \u00e9ternel. Le r\u00e9cit d\u2019Apul\u00e9e, qui connut un grand succ\u00e8s \u00e0 Rome, se transmit aux si\u00e8cles suivants dans la culture populaire.
