At six years old, young Marie was sent to France to the court of Catherine de Medici. In 1558, she married the dauphin Francis and became Queen of France in 1559. Francis II died in 1560 and Mary returned to Scotland shortly after. In 1565 she married Henry Stuart, who died in an explosion in 1567, with whom she had a son, James VI. She remarried James Hepburn in 1567. Queen of Scotland and heir presumptive to the English throne since her return, she was forced to abdicate that year in favor of her one-year-old son. On February 8, 1587, she died, beheaded on the orders of her cousin, Elizabeth I. Marie Stuart is very well known because of her tragic destiny which inspired writers, composers and more recently filmmakers. She is one of the rare queens of a given state (the kingdom of Scotland) to have been simultaneously queen of another state (the kingdom of France), like Mary I of England, also queen of Spain due to her marriage to Philip II. Mary was also a claimant to the throne of a third state, the kingdom of England.<\/p>\n
Symmetrical brass necklace hypoallergenic and high resistance satin varnish , composed of a plastron and a pendant.
